What is St. Patrick’s Day?

St. Patrick, who lived in the fifth century, is the patron saint of Ireland. Born in Roman Britain, he was brought to Ireland as a slave at the age of 16. After escaping, he returned to Ireland where he is said to have introduced Christianity. St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated every year on March 17, the anniversary of his death. Irish people have been observing this day as a religious holiday for over 1,000 years.

Decorative ideas for St. Patrick’s Day

One of the most famous symbols of St. Patrick’s Day is the three-leaf clover. Apparently, St. Patrick used it to explain the Holy Trinity. The clover is therefore often a key decorative element for this festive day. However, there are many other options for decorating your home.
